When my brother recently asked me to go hiking with him, I had to tell him that I didn’t own any hiking gear and had to be honest and admit that I wasn’t even sure where to find any. He laughed at my response and let me know that I could easily find hiking gear at the local sports store, but if I really wanted to have a great selection without having to pay outrageous prices, then I needed to search online. He sent me a website where he orders all his hiking gear and included a list of some of the basic items that I’ll need to get started. When I read the email, I was so happy that my brother had pretty much outlined everything I needed in terms of hiking gear and why I needed each item. He also suggested a few other items that he said weren’t necessities, but that I could get them once I decided that I wanted t go hiking again, since there was no point in buying things if I wasn’t going to use them. I ordered all the hiking gear he said that I needed and this afternoon we’re going to go for a short hike to help get me acclimated to it. Next week, weather permitting; I’ll get to use my hiking gear for the first time.
