deer huntingMy husband told me that deer hunting was one of his favorite hobbies before I ever came to the US and married him. When my husband told me about the deer hunting I was horrified at first. I was brought up in an urban area of England so the concept of deer hunting was totally alien to me. What’s more Bambi was one of the first movies I saw as a kid so you can imagine how I was thinking.
I have been married to my husband for almost five years now and since then my attitude has deer hunting has changed somewhat. I could never hunt a deer personally and that will never change. Nor do I eat deer meat. However now I know that deer hunting helps to avoid massive population growth. If there are too many deer then some of them will starve over the winter. I also understand that deer hunting is something my husband has done since he was a boy. Hence I have accepted it. My only stipulation is that if my husband catches anything he makes sure that all of the meat gets eaten.
