Fishing is something that I've been doing since I was about three years old. My dad use to take me to a nearby stream and we would sit there for hours with our fishing rods dangling from our laps while we ate the sandwiches my mom would make for us. Now, I get to take my own son out to the lake and spend the afternoon trolling around for salmon. Recently I got the opportunity to go deep sea fishing, and since I've never been, I went.
I brought my own fishing rod and fishing reel, but quickly realized I wasn't going to need it. In fact, the other guys that went got quite a chuckle over my little fishing rod compared to the massive ones waiting on the boat. About two hours into our deep sea fishing trip, I saw why we needed the bigger fishing reels and fishing rods. I hooked onto a Blue Marlin that took me three hours to bring into the boat. My arms were on fire, my back was throbbing, and I had a huge smile on my face as we brought in the 1,300 pound fish.
